My first time - Losing my virginity

Dear Sex guru:

My fiance and me decided to make love for the first time, and I found that I had a hard time keeping an erection after I was in her. I took it slow and easy, and I asked her the next day if she was okay and whether she bled or not. She told me no, and now I'm worried... I don't know if at 8 inches I am "big" enough to "pop her cherry". I was told by a friend that it doesn`t always bleed after your first time, if the guy is careful then the cherry doesn`t pop, but gets stretched open. Which one is right?

VE

Sex Guru says :

Dear VE,

I thinking that you were having a hard time keeping that orgasm because you were nervous on your first try. No matter, it can only get better.

Also, the cherry - the generic name for the hymen, is a membrane within the vagina, somewhat as tough as the skin of a plastic bag.

The hymen in a virgin already has holes in it, to allow menstrual blood to flow out. It is easily broken, and if your fiancee is athletic, may have caused it to break before. Also, if she has "fingered" herself before, of if you have done so, it is possible that it may have broken.

As for the amount of bleeding, this varies in different females. Some females may have torrential bleeding, while others may have minute bleeding, a few drops, hardly noticeable.

Out of these many possibilities, any could have happened.

At 8 inches, if you had penetrated her fully, I would think it would be unlikely that the hymen was still intact. It is slightly elastic, but not that elastic.

Also, the hymen does not "stretch open". It breaks, but if there are no blood vessels where it breaks, there is no bleeding.

Solution :

I don`t think you really have much of a problem. I would advise you to stop worrying and enjoy your sex life, as it can only get better.
